According to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ring of Honor Wrestling has signed Jeff Cobb to make several appearances for the company. The two parties are still negotiating a potential long-term contract though.
For fans who might be unfamiliar with Cobb, he competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in amateur wrestling, representing Guam. He has been in the professional wrestling business since 2009, and has enjoyed considerable success on El Rey Network's Lucha Underground as the masked "Matanza Cueto" character, a former Lucha Underground Champion. He has also made appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling since late last year.
Impact Wrestling was also reportedly interested in Cobb, but he chose ROH instead for right now, as he likes ROH's working relationship with NJPW. ROH is also reportedly going to allow him to take time off from them to work NJPW shows, whereas Impact Wrestling wanted Cobb to make Impact his top priority.
