Update Regarding The WWE Status Of James Ellsworth

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that regarding James Ellsworth’s current status with WWE, Ellsworth does not currently have a contract with the company, nor was he offered a new deal following his appearance at the recent Money in the Bank event. Furthermore, Ellsworth is still being booked to work various independent dates as well.

There is also speculation among fans in regards to Ellsworth’s spot with Asuka at Sunday night’s WWE Extreme Rules event, which saw Asuka physically assault Ellsworth in the ring following her match with Carmella. The current speculation is whether or not that spot was performed in order to again write Ellsworth off of television, at least for the time being.
