During Monday's edition of WWE Raw this week there was no mention of Brock Lesnar, the company's Universal champion. Many have found that kind of odd given he made a highly publicised appearance at UFC 226 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Like most omissions in professional wrestling a few reasons as to why Lesnar's name wasn't mentioned. In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Vince McMahon briefed everybody prior to the show that Raw was solely to focus on the build for Extreme Rules and given Lesnar is not on that card he is not to be brought up on Raw in Boston.Â
Meltzer added that McMahon is adamant in creating the sense that Lesnar walked out of the company for UFC and isn't coming back to defend his title. The only problem is that many feel WWE didn't capitalize on that UFC/Lesnar appearance, thus a "walk out" isn't having the appeal it might have had they made mention of it on air.
