In the weeks leading up to Money in the Bank, there were rumors floating around that WWE was planning on having Big E represent The New Day in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and give him a singles push away from Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
WWE officials ended up putting Kofi Kingston in the match instead. However, according to a report from PWInsider.com, this doesn't necessarily mean that WWE doesn't still have plans for Big E.
PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson said the following:
"There has been a lot of talk about giving Big E a singles push. At one point he was supposed to be the New Day representative in Money in the Bank, obviously they changed that and Kofi Kingston was in. Now Big E is back in the game, he’s in the Gauntlet Match. Very curious to see with that they’re going to do with Big E.”
