Ring of Honor Wrestling star Alex Shelley of The Motor City Machine Guns posted the following on Twitter after suffering a rather severe injury during the recent ROH television tapings:
Long story short: my teeth got knocked out alongside a concussion that made me time travel. And it all goes to hell from here.

That said, @ringofhonor takes care of their athletes when injured and practices the most ethical business practices possible. Not all major companies I have wrestled for could say that. @njpw1972 could though.

Ironic considering this happened 3 years ago in NYC as well. And that was the turning point for me to pursue physical therapy. Ain’t no PT for teeth and traumatic brain injuries.

Never been hit so hard in my life, I might add. There are chunks of teeth stuck in my mouthpiece, which is fight grade. If I didn’t have that, I would have been getting emergency surgery.

And to anyone who says I am injury prone? Come on. Most of my injured areas have been mandible/cerebrally based. You ask our roster who’s consistently top speed with abs; I have to be top 5.

That said, if I come back without abs, I give @KarlAndersonWWE full right to kick my ass, wholesale. He’s leader of the Ab Crew now.

Like, when things like this happen (freak occurrences that statistically have a low probability of happening) I can't help but wonder if I'm just being stubborn and not reading the signs. It's heart rendering and depressing, but it's also my current reality.
