Io Shirai Confirms She's Heading To WWE

The big news on Io Shirai joining WWE that has been speculated for the past week has been confirmed by Japanese women’s wrestler herself. She revealed that she has left Stardom on amicable terms and will be joining WWE. 

Shirai wrote on a blog, "I’m going to leave Stardom with me aiming for a further leap of pro-wrestling life in the future." (translated).

She further added that she is making this move from Stardom so she doesn't have any regrets about her career in the future.

Shirai had a tryout with WWE last year but failed the medical test and was not offered a deal. It would seem those medical issues have been resolved and speculation suggests she might be appearing for the second Mae Young Classic tournament.
