Dave Melter has said that the ending of Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns was intended to be controversial, on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
According to Meltzer, the commentators were instructed to call the finish as controversial but did not intend for Reign's feet to touch the ground first in their Steel Cage match.
Referee Chad Patton's tweet, explaining that he had made a mistake was also intentional, to explain Brock's victory.
I understand i made an incorrect decision & want to apologize. During the #UniversalTitle match at #WWEGRR, i saw Brock Lesnar go thru the cage first and was concerned for the health and safety of both superstars.
