Former WWE Champion Edge has described the death of Bruno Sammartino as the "end of an era" and has described him as the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.
Speaking on the 'E&C's Pod of Awesomeness', the 2012 Hall of Famer said that he ranked Bruno as a bigger star than Hulk Hogan or 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
He said: "If you're looking at MSG sellout ... Bruno, man, was champ ... combined in two reigns, 11 years, like, 4,000 however many days. That doesn't happen nowadays."
Edge also spoke on the Italian Superman calling him, after the Rated-R Superstar's second neck surgery in 2011.
"Sammartino found out I was in town and having neck surgery, got the number to my hotel room, and called me post-surgery to make sure I was okay. And it completely blew my brain."
"I think that to me kind of exemplifies what kind of man he was."
Bruno Sammartino died last week aged 82 after spending two months in hospital.
