Who Is The Most Recognizable Wrestler Ever?

An analyst from Medium.com has found that Hulk Hogan is the most recognizable wrestler of all time.

Damian Hospital used data from YouGov, asking over 4,000 people's opinions on wrestlers, before subtracting the percentage of answers that said: "Never heard of."

According to the study, Hulk Hogan takes top spot as the most recognisable star ever, with Hollywood icon The Rock 2nd, and John Cena taking 3rd. 

Percentage of YouGov poll participants who have heard of the following wrestlers:

Stone Cold Steve Austin 78%

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey 68%

“Macho Man” Randy Savage 65%

Vince McMahon 63%

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair 62%

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper: 53%

Dusty “The American Dream” Rhodes 49%

Triple H 49%

Chris Jericho 47%

Linda McMahon 47%

Brock Lesnar: 40%

Jerry “The King" Lawler: 38%

Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka: 37%

It should be noted that various factors outside of pro-wrestling will have influenced this poll, e.g. Linda McMahon's two campaigns for US Senate.

In addition, several large names such as The Undertaker have not currently been added to the poll.
