As was previously reported, WWE NXT Superstar Bobby Fish of The Undisputed Era suffered a knee injury at an NXT live event in Indianapolis, Indiana last month.
WWE.com has officially confirmed the injury as of earlier today, although they are reporting that it happened this weekend (to keep continuity with their NXT television tapings).
The following comes from WWE.com:
NXT Tag Team Champion Bobby Fish suffered an injury to his left knee at an NXT Live Event over the weekend.
Footage from the event shows Fish crumbling to the mat after executing a kick during a tag team match. According to a WWE.com exclusive video report by Cathy Kelley, the early indication is that Fish tore his ACL and will be unable to compete this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Fish and his Undisputed ERA teammate Kyle O’Reilly were scheduled to defend the NXT Tag Team Titles against the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Roderick Strong & WWE U.K. Champion Pete Dunne are set to battle The Authors of Pain in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals this Wednesday on NXT.
WWE.com will provide updates on Fish’s injury and its implications for TakeOver: New Orleans and the NXT Tag Team Titles as they become available.
