One of Daniel Bryan's Doctors Talks About the Health of His Brain: "No Evidence of Prior Brain Injury"

One of the doctors who cleared Daniel Bryan to return to in-ring competition is a neurosurgeon by the name of Dr. Robert Cantu. Dr. Cantu recently spoke to Newsweek.com about his evaluation of Bryan, particularly Bryan's brain. According to the doctor, Bryan's brain appears to be in good health, and he doesn't even show any strong signs of prior brain injury:

“I evaluated Bryan for a neurological opinion on return to WWE on February 26, 2018. Included in his medical records were multiple evaluations by renowned concussion clinicians,” says Cantu by email.

“I determined that Bryan is currently asymptomatic, has a normal detailed neurological and cognitive neuropsychological examination, normal EEG, and an MRI that showed no definite evidence of a prior brain injury. It is my medical opinion that there is no absolute contraindication to his return to in-ring action in WWE."

It should also be noted that Dr. Cantu was one of the neurological experts who examined the brain of Chris Benoit after the Benoit family tragedy back in 2007.
