On tonight's edition of WWE Raw, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced during a backstage interview with Renee Young that Roman Reigns has been "temporarily suspended" from the company following his actions at the start of the broadcast.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle had announced that for some unknown reason, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar wouldn't be on the show, despite having been announced as appearing for a "face-to-face" with Reigns for the second week in a row. Reigns then came to the ring and asked what type of repercussions Lesnar would face for "not showing up to work today." Reigns then answered his own question by saying that there would be no repercussions for Lesnar because he's "Vince's boy." Reigns stated that he can stand being disrespected by Lesnar, but he refused to be disrespected by Vince, as Reigns had walked right past Vince in the gorilla position backstage before coming to the ring, yet he said Vince never mentioned to him that Lesnar wouldn't be at Raw tonight.

Lesnar then confronted Vince backstage, and Vince said that the two would discuss the situation in his office. Following a commercial break and during his interview with Renee, Vince stated that Lesnar would be on Raw next week, and that everyone had his word on that. He then announced that since Reigns had disrespected him with his comments at the start of the broadcast, Reigns would be "temporarily suspended."
