- During Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Philadelphia event, WWE introduced War Machine, Ricochet, and EC3 to the brand. Prior to them joining there had been much speculation as to whether WWE would change any of their names. Dave Meltzer noted on War Machine that the company felt they had to introduce them as War Machine to get a good crowd reaction but there are still plans to repackage them once they debut on weekly NXT television. EC3 might be given a new name but the company views it as largely established but Ricochet will definitely be receiving a new name once he debuts.
- You may have noticed Nigel McGuiness was notably absent from last night's NXT Takeover: Philadelphia. The reason for this is because he was at home unwell and they had Percy Watson fill in for him. He did, however, catch the show which he had high praise for.
What an incredible show tonight. Speechless. Kudos to everyone involved. Hope i never miss another. #TakeOverPhiladelphia
