At Friday night's ROH Final Battle 2017 event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Dalton Castle defeated Cody in the main event to become the brand new Ring of Honor World Champion.

During the match, Cody's wife, Brandi Rhodes, hit a plancha on The Boys after the prevented Brandi from handing Cody a chair, and afterward, both she and The Boys were ejected from ringside by referee Todd Sinclair. 

Following the match, Castle was presented the ROH World Championship belt by former ROH owner Cary Silkin.
