What Vince McMahon Originally Wanted to Name the Absolution Faction

According to The Dirty Sheets Podcast, the pairing of Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Paige were not originally going to be called Absolution. WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon reportedly wanted to name the group PMS: Paige, Mandy, Sonya.

Despite the fact that "PMS: Pretty Mean Sisters" was a name that was already used in WWE before during the Attitude Era (Terri Runnels, Jacqueline Moore, and briefly Ryan Shamrock, the storyline sister of Ken Shamrock), McMahon apparently felt that it would be a good name for this new faction because they would be angry females who were upset about being overlooked in WWE. He also wasn't worried about the name receiving any backlash because they could just say that it meant Paige, Mandy, Sonya.

According to Dirty Sheets, PMS was set to be their name on the night they debuted on Raw until just before the show started. It was reportedly Vince's daughter, WWE Chief Brand Officer and Monday Night Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, who pushed for the name to be dropped.
