Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that many in WWE were not surprised by the recent release of long-time music composer Jim Johnson. Johnston reportedly wanted to stay with WWE, however, his contract was much too high to retain. Although it is being viewed as the "end of an era" the Johnson era was over a few years ago when CFO$ took over producing the majority of WWE themes.
For those wondering why WWE never made an official announcement, it doesn't comment on the status of their employees behind the scenes, so no official announcement is expected to be made.Â
Johnson had been with WWE for 32 years an produced many of the company's theme songs for the likes of The Undertaker, D-Generation X, The Rock and many many more.
