Vince McMahon Makes Major Change To WWE Royal Rumble Plans

Vince McMahon has reportedly nixed original plans for Finn Balor vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar as the co-main event for the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The changes were reportedly made early Monday morning but have been in consideration over the Survivor Series weekend. McMahon feels Balor isn't over enough with the WWE audience which may explain why he lost to Samoa Joe last night.

The new plans for the Raw main event at Royal Rumble are unknown and WWE creative are believed to be scrambling to come up with a new main event. McMahon also is believed not to want anybody to kick out of the F5 until WrestleMania, where the plan has always been Roman Reigns vs. Lensar.
