According to a report from TMZ, wrestling legend "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala had to have emergency surgery on Sunday. His doctors apparently didn't even think he was going to survive the surgery but now it looks like he is slowly recovering.
As longtime wrestling fans are aware, Kamala was a fairly well-traveled Super Heavyweight monster in the wrestling scene throughout the 1980's and 1990's. He spent a lot of time in the southern wrestling territories like Memphis/CWA, Mid-South Wrestling, and World Class Championship Wrestling based out of Texas. He then enjoyed considerable success in WWE, as he had some high-profile matches against the likes of Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Andre the Giant, and The Undertaker.
He also worked for World Championship Wrestling in 1995 as a member of the infamous Dungeon of Doom stable.
Kamala's health has declined considerably in recent years, as he has had to have both of his legs amputated due to diabetes and high blood pressure.
We at WNS wish Kamala (real name James Harris) a full and speedy recovery.
