On tonight's edition of WWE Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle was scheduled to announce who would comprise Raw's team for the Men's 5-on-5 Raw vs. SmackDown LIVE Traditional Survivor Series Match at the upcoming Survivor Series event. However, before Angle could announce Raw's team members, he was interrupted by SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon's entrance theme, as well as Shane coming to the ring through the crowd accompanied by the SmackDown LIVE roster.
Once in the ring, Shane repeated something he said to Angle earlier in the night: "under siege." Angle then left the ring before Shane ordered his roster to "get them." The SmackDown LIVE roster then headed backstage and attacked all Raw Superstars they came into contact with, as well as a backstage worker.
Following the assaults, Angle was forced back to the ring, where Shane told him to "bring your gold medal and what's left of your Raw roster" and that SmackDown LIVE would finish what they started.
