WWE has issued the following statement on medial issues affecting a number of their talent:
“We have confirmed that three of our performers have been diagnosed with a viral infection. As a precautionary measure, we are ensuring in-ring performers and staff are tested and immunized in accordance with recommended medical guidelines.”
According to WrestlingInc, WWE has been testing members of the Raw roster for the mumps. WWE had apparently originally tested some talent for viral meningitis and discovered that the illness is believed to be the mumps. Mumps is spread in the same way as colds and flu – through infected droplets of saliva that can be inhaled or picked up from surfaces and transferred into the mouth or nose.
