WWE has announced due to an unprecedented number of medical issues affecting talent, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle will be returning to a WWE ring for the first time in more than 11 years to replace Roman Reigns and team with Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman, Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus and Kane in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs 5-on-3 Handicap Match.
In addition also due to illness, former WWE Champion AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt and face Finn Bálor.
For those that are unaware Bo Dallas, his real-life brother Bray Wyatt have missed last two weeks of Raw. Wyatt's real-life life girlfriend, ring announcer Jojo Offerman, also missed this week’s Raw due dealing with sickness. In addition, Tom Phillips missed this week's SmackDown, although it's not confirmed if he has also caught what has been going around. Kevin Owens was pulled from all weekend WWE Live Events, while AJ Styles couldn't wrestle last night due to sickness.
According to WrestlingInc, WWE has been testing members of the Raw roster for the mumps. WWE had apparently originally tested some talent for viral meningitis and discovered that the illness is believed to be the mumps. Mumps is spread in the same way as colds and flu – through infected droplets of saliva that can be inhaled or picked up from surfaces and transferred into the mouth or nose.
