Wrestling Observer is reporting that the announcement of the GFW and Impact merger details had not actually been completed. With Jeff Jarrett out of the picture, taking a leave of absence and the fact that he still owns the GFW name, Anthem has chosen to drop the GFW rebrand in all its promotions for Bounf For Glory
There was a sentiment against rebranding and to continue on with using the GFW name however that no longer seems to be the case. WON is also reporting that publicly the company line is that Jeff Jarrett will be returning. Privately nobody is certain of anything. At this time, there has been no comment from the company on whether or not they will keep the GFW name
The feeling is the company wants to get away from the negativity associated with TNA and as long as they are in Orlando the feeling is that they are TNA Wrestling. Long term goal is to make Impact a Canadian company due to some economic advantages and also because Anthem is based in Toronto.
