Former UFC heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga will be making his professional boxing debut on October 28 against Alando Pugh, who currently holds a record of 1-10-1. Nine out of his ten losses have been by knockout.
The 38-year-old Gonzaga retired from mixed martial arts fighting last year with an overall record of 17-11. His last fight resulted in a loss to Derrick Lewis by way of knockout in April of 2016.
Gonzaga was once the Number One Contender for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, as he challenged the legendary Randy "The Natural" Couture for the gold back in August of 2007. Just a few months prior to that, Gonzaga upset the Pride FC legend Mirko Cro Cop by catching Cro Cop with his own dreaded head kick.
