Details Behind Why Asuka Was Called Up To Raw and Not SmackDown Live

During Monday's episode of WWE Raw (Sept 11.) it was tested that NXT star Asuka will be coming to the Raw brand very soon. A report yesterday from PWInsider mentioned that Asuka is expected to debut in early October as there is a WWE Network collection planned to introduce her to the mainstream WWE audience, however, Dave Meltzer said on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that she won’t be brought up Raw until at least November.

It is speculated that WWE wants to give her enough time to recover from her collarbone injury which forced her to relinquish the NXT Women's Championship.

Meltzer also noted that the reason she is heading to Raw instead of SmackDown Live is that WWE officials feel SmackDown has the strong women's division and she is not needed there. As for Raw, the feeling is there are no creative plans for Emma but having her in the 4-Way match at WWE No Mercy for the Women’s Championship is simply to have her fill a top spot because they have nobody else at the moment.
