Conflicting Reports About Baron Corbin's Backstage Status

There was a report that came out a few weeks ago by Justin Barraso of Sports Illustrated that a big reason why Baron Corbin's push on SmackDown Live was ending was because John Cena basically buried Corbin to Vince McMahon and told McMahon that Corbin was not ready to be a big-time player in WWE.

However, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that that's not what he's hearing. Meltzer says that Cena didn't have anything to do with ending Corbin's push, and he also noted that Corbin's recent actions on Twitter are not the reason for it either. Meltzer stated that he heard that it was because of “an entirely different situation outside the ring that happened a few weeks ago.”
