We kick things off with the new U.S. champion Kevin Owens making his way to the ring. He's greeted with a chorus of boos which angers Owens, but teels everyone that him having the title just feels right. He says that he proved that good things happen to good people, and that he took his title back from the thief AJ Styles. Owens says he is reinstating the U.S. open challenge, and that it'll begin next week stating that he won't be defending his title in front of a bunch of hicks from Richmond. This prompts AJ to come to the ring. Owens says he better be out here to congratulate him, to which AJ responds "nope" and demands his rematch. Owens once again says he won't be defending it tonight which triggers a surprise return from...Chris Jericho!
Owens tries to ask why he's here, but Jericho keeps interrupting with "Quiet". Jericho says he's back after 3 months of rehab and says he also has a rematch. AJ says a lot has changed and that he's next in line, to which Jericho puts AJ on the List. Owens attempts to leave down the ramp and almost leaves until Shane McMahon stops him right at the entrance. He makes a Triple Threat match for the U.S. Title for tonight's main event.
SINGLES MATCH: Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Naka goes right at Corbin with strikes and grounds him. He knees Corbin off the apron and guillotines him with another. He goes for another knee but Corbin clotheslines him almost out of his boots as we head to break. The small screen continues coverage. Corbin dumps Naka out of the ring and rams him into the barricade several times. He throws Naka back in the ring grounds him with strikes. Baron goes for a lock but Naka slithers out and locks in an armbar. Baron powers out but gets switched into a guillotine choke. Baron uses his power again to reverse into a verticle suplex. Baron puts Naka in a chin lock but gets reversed into a whip. Baron slides out of the ring and comes back in but eats a kick. Naka takes control with viscious kicks and knees. Naka plants a final knee to the chin from the top but only for a nearfall. Naka tries to hit a series of kicks but Baron dodges them all, hitting a chokeslam backbreaker for a nearfall. Baron starts to hit Naka with his own knees but in Naka's style, and mocks his hand movements. Naka whips Baron who slides out and tries for a clothesline but Naka dodges. He charges but eats a Deep 6 for a nearfall. Baron goes for the End of Days but Naka slides out. He hits Corbin with a series of knee ending with the Kin Sasha for the win.
WINNER: SHINSUKE NAKAMURA
TAG TEAM MATCH: Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch vs. Tamina and Lana
Lana and Becky start with a tie up and Becky goes right for the Disramer. Lana tags in Tamina who shoves Becky into the ropes. Becky shoves back and dodges a strike, trying for another disarmer. She then rolls up Tamina fore a nearfall. Tamina whips Becky to the corner and pulls her off by her feet making her face plant. Lana tags in and hits a vertical suplex for a nearfall. She locks the chin and arm of Becky who fights, but gets slammed to the mat by her hair. Tamina tags in and delivers hard shots to Becky in the corner. Tamina charges and eats a boot allowing Charlotte to tag in and deliver a flurry of signature offense. Charlotte charges Tamina but takes a superkick. Charlotte boots Tamina off the apron but Lana tags in to take a boot as well, taking the pinfall.
WINNER: CHARLOTTE AND BECKY LYNCH
WWE champion Jinder Mahal is out to demand his Summerslam opponent. He talks about destroying Randy Orton's legacy, and says like everyone else he underestimated him.He says he'll stay champ as long as he desires. He asks who his Summerslam opponent is, to which John Cena answers the call. Jinder tells Cena he knows what he's going to say, talking about how he didn't deserve it, but Cena responds by saying he's a crappy mind reader. He tells Mahal he respects him for his work ethic and his willingness to keep the championship by doing whatever it is. Cena then lays his claim that he will face Mahal for the championship at Summerslam. Cena goes to leave but Daniel Bryan comes out. He congratulates both of them for the victories, but tells Cena that he and Shane make the matches, not him. He tells Cena he has to earn his spot, and that he will face Shinsuke Nakamura for the spot next week.
TAG TEAM MATCH: Mike Kennelis and Aiden English vs. Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger
Aiden and Tye start with Tye delivering chops. Sami tags in and delivers some signature offense ending with a leg scissors. Mike tags in and eats a clothesline. Sami whips Mike but eats an elbow before Mike escapes to the outside. Sami gives chase but Maria stops him, allowing Aiden to kick him from behind before tagging in and planting Sami with punches. Mike tags back in and keeps control with shots of his own in the corner while blowing kisses to Maria. Aiden tags in and whips Sami into the corner and charges him with a back slam for a nearfall. Aiden wrenches the head and Sami fights to his feet, but gets thrown into the enemy corner. Mike tags in and hits Sami with a big boot for another nearfall. Aiden tags in and tries to ground Sami with shots. Sami dumps Aiden to the outside allowing Tye to tag and deliver signtaure offense. Mike tags in and takes a bunch of shots. Tye climbs to the top but Sami sneaks a tag as Aiden and Mike charge Tye after a dodged arial move. Aiden gets dumped while Mike eats a surprise Helluva Kick for the win.
WINNER: SAMI ZAYN AND TYE DILLINGER
Big starts his normal announcement of the New Day, but you hear it abruptly stop. The Usos throw the New Day out to the ramp and beat them down before leaving them injured in the entrance way.
U.S. CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho and AJ go right after Owens and double team him dumping him out of the ring. Jericho then rolls up AJ for a nearfall, and the two trade nearfall roll ups until Owens pops AJ with a right and sends him out of the ring. This leaves him with Jericho and the two trade shots. Jericho goes for an early Codebreaker and Walls but Owens pushes him to the corner. Jericho climbs up and delivers a missle dropkick for a nearfall broken up by Styles. Styles tries for a vertical but is blocked by Jericho. Owens dumps Jericho over the ropes and wails on Styles with punches. Jericho tries to re-enter but Owens hits him with a punch before hitting Styles with a senton for a nearfall. He leaves the rings and hits Jericho with some strikes before re-entering and taking strikes from AJ. AJ charges but takes a big clothesline. Owens whips AJ again but gets reversed into the calf crusher. Jericho does a lionsault on both for a nearfall as we head to break.
We return with Owens and AJ struggling to their feet. Jericho comes in but is greeted with a couple chops from Styles. Styles charges but gets back body dropped hard before taking chops himself. Jericho goes for a superplex but Owens gets him in an electric chair. Jericho slides out for a Walls but Owens swings out and Jericho eats a hard right. Styles climbs the apron and Owens charges but gets dumped. AJ hits a 450 onto JEricho but Owens throws AJ out and goes for the pin, only getting a nearfall. Styles comes back in and throws Owens out before attempting a Styles Clash on Jericho. He gets reversed into a Walls before OWens breaks it up, getting put into it himself. Syles comes in to break it up but eats a Codebreaker for a close nearfall. The two get to their feet and trade hard shots. Jericho goes for a springboard but OWens pulls the legs. Both men crawl to the corner but each take a cannonball. Owens goes for another on AJ but takes a forearm. Aj takes an enziguri from Jericho who takes a superkick from Owens who takes a Pele kick from AJ. AJ goes for a springboard but gets dumped by Owens before he hits Jericho for a pop up powerbomb for a nearfall. Owens hits Jericho with a big frog splash but AJ throws him out and steals the pin.
WINNER AND NEW U.S. CHAMP: AJ STYLES
Kevin grabs a mic and tells everyone to shut up and says none of this is fair. He says he wants his rematch next week.Â
