As some fans are already aware, former WWE and WCW stars Scott "Raven" Levy and Marcus "Buff" Bagwell filed a lawsuit against WWE some time ago which basically stated that they believe that talents who appear in footage on the WWE Network should be paid royalties, especially since the Network has overtaken the sales of WWE DVDs.
Apparently they had contracts in WCW that stated that they would be paid royalties for having their likeness appear in any form of media, including “technology yet to be created,” which they claim would now include the WWE Network. Since WWE purchased all of WCW's assets back in 2001, they claim that WWE is now responsible for honoring the terms of those old contracts.
WWE filed a legal response to this in late June, which basically said that they do not believe that they owe Raven or Bagwell any new royalties from the Network and that they want the case to be dismissed.
