Wrestling legend and current GFW backstage official Bruce Prichard recently revealed on his Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard podcast that both WWE and WCW were interested in bringing in O.J. Simpson.
According to Prichard, Simpson was actually penciled in to be "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's opponent at WrestleMania 12 instead of Goldust, and the match would have been put together where Piper would have completely destroyed Simpson. Apparently Simpson's representatives were actually in favor of it because it would have garnered a good paycheck for Simpson. But due to the fear of backlash, WWE decided to scrap these plans.
Prichard also revealed that when Vince Russo was in charge of WCW creative in the year 2000, one idea that was brought up was to bring in O.J. Simpson to do a lie detector test live on a WCW pay-per-view. The idea was squashed by other WCW officials.
