Wrestling Column - WWE 2k18 Wishlist

Is it too early to talk about WWE 2k18? WWE 2K18 will no doubt surface this weekend at E3 2017 to showcase gameplay and announce a release date. Here are the top 5 things I want to see in the next game.

1^st and foremost we need a much improved career mode. 2k has the basics down. Yeah it would be nice if we move up the rankings faster and there are quite a few bugs, but besides that the basics in career mode is pretty solid.  The bad starts right away. Every week we have to sit through a show intro and fireworks. It's annoying. There is just too much loading, but that is an issue with the whole game… not just career mode. We need more match types in career. They do not need to just be there, but make since? Why am I facing Randy Orton in HIAC? Why am I in a random TLC match… This brings me to my biggest outcry: Give us a story! It is pathetic and inexcusable that if I want to play a good story mode in a wrestling game that I need to dust off my PS2 and put Here Comes the Pain in. Come on 2k! Step it up!

2^nd Bring back Showcase Mode.. Please.  I don't really have to go into much detail on this. 2k mode was awesome. They took it out for no reason. We want it back. It was great for replay ability and a DLC tie in. Moving on.

3^rd Another simple fix: Fix the commentary. This is something that 2k has exceled at in the NBA franchise. Bring it to WWE please. It just gets worse every year. They are off topic. They are boring. They are unrealistic. If it is going to be terrible at least put JR in the game.

4^th More match types. Remember WWE 2k15. It was horrible. 2k16 was better. 2k17 was better still, but can you try and remember WWE 14. There was a menu that you could go into before every match. You could make it a submission match or a KO finish only. You could make any match into an elimination match. You could literally turn a fatal four way into a 4 way elimination first blood match. Now the only elimination matches available are battle royal or elimination chamber. That makes playing local multiplayer get stale pretty fast. Bring back this menu or at least a variation of it. Please.

5^thI feel like this one is going to be lost in the wind, but we all want GM mode back. I know with the focus being on Universe mode that GM mode probably will never be seen again, but we can always hope right. This is as perfect of a time as any to put this in the game. Also: give us a draft.

Honorable mention: The rest are small things that couldn’t make a top 5, but just a quick mention. Can we have superstar tattoos back? At least give us a few original ones. Even the designs they have do not go on the CAS body's correctly. Why is it so hard to give a guy a sleeve? Come on!
