We reported on Monday that Braun Strowman is expected to be out of action for up to six months after his elbow was “shattered” and he underwent successful elbow surgery.
In an update, Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that the six months is a work by WWE and that Strowman is expected to return in time for a match at SummerSlam against WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. It's possible he will be back in mid-July.
Meltzer the went on to speculate that WWE will swap Brock Lesnar’s original opponent for SummerSlam, which was most likely Seth Rollins or Finn Balor, for the main event of the Great Balls Of Fire in July.
It was announced on last night's WWE Raw that a Fatal 5-Way will take at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on June 4th to determine the new #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship. Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns will all be involved in the match.
