On today's edition of Wrestling Observer Live, host Dave Meltzer noted that WWE officials would reportedly be holding a meeting sometime today regarding both the WWE Universal Championship and Braun Strowman. It was also noted that the meeting was initially supposed to take place on Wednesday, but did not for reasons that remain unknown.
Meltzer further noted that WWE is hopeful that Strowman will be able to return to action by this coming July, as he is currently scheduled to undergo a procedure to correct an ongoing issue with his elbow. Currently, the general consensus is that if Strowman is only out of action for a month, then his scheduled match against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Great Balls od Fire, WWE's new July pay-per-view event, won't have to be put off. On the other hand, if Strowman is unable to return at that time for this match, then the top two individuals being considered as replacement opponents for Lesnar would be Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. This would then leave Strowman vs. Lesnar to be pushed back for SummerSlam in August.
