Another Reason Why WWE Has Booked Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton

New details have emerged as to why Jinder Mahal has received a sudden push into the main event picture. As already announced he will be facing Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the upcoming WWE Backlash pay-per-view on May 21st.

The belief is that the company want to create a main event star in Mahal to help their current expansion into the Indian market. The Singh Brothers are also being used to help push this expansion with plans to launch a WWE India Shop website soon.

In addition, WWE feel more confident these days to push lower level draws into the main event picture as the events now air on the WWE Network and fans might view the event as “a $9.99 event” rather than a $50 pay-per-view which would traditionally draw poorly if fans were asked to buy into this main event.
