Mauro Ranallo was again absent from WWE SmackDown LIVE this week, which marks the third week in a row that the announcer has missed the broadcast. As previously reported, Ranallo's absence from the company has to do with his ongoing battle against depression, which he has fought ever since his teenage years. During a recent appearance on The Luke Thomas Show, Ranallo's podcast co-host and friend Bas Rutten took the opportunity to comment on Ranallo's status and his battle. Below is what he had to say:
"Yeah, he's doing OK. As everybody knows, he's very vocal about it but Mauro is bi-polar and sometimes, a few times a year, things are going too fast and he needs to just simply slow down. But he's doing good and I talked to him... he's sending me funny video clips, he just sent me something... It's all in good spirits, I think he will be back to normal very soon."
PROGRESS Wrestling has announced that at the March 31st "PROGRESS: Orlando" event, Tyler Bate will defend the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Mark Andrews. WWE NXT General Manager William Regal made the match official after both Bate and Trent Seven had previously helped Pete Dunne retain the PROGRESS World Championship over Andrews.
