On Monday night's edition of WWE Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley was fired by Commissioner Stephanie McMahon as the General Manager of the brand following his actions on last week's broadcast, which involved him attacking Stephanie's husband, WWE COO Triple H.
At the start of the broadcast, Foley came to the ring and was forced to read a prepared statement off of note cards, which stated that he would be taking a "leave of absence." Foley then tore up the note cards and tried speaking, but found his microphone getting repeatedly cut off.
It has been widely reported for some time now that Foley would likely soon be taking time off to undergo hip replacement surgery, so it appears that this is likely why this segment was done; however, this has not been confirmed as of yet.
