Shawn Michaels Highly Praises Samoa Joe, Comments On A Match With AJ Styles

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was recently interviewed by Justin Barrasso of SI.com about a number of topics as we head toward WrestleMania 33.

During the interview, Michaels was asked about a possible match with AJ Styles. The match has been a fantasy of WWE fans for a number of years and no doubt one that would be booked if Vince McMahon could get Michaels to come out of retirement, something which he hasn't been keen on.

Michaels praised Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins but said Samoa Joe ring work is very good and that a match with Joe would be easy as he could make a beatdown look good. Moving on to Style's he said:

“It’s a different kind of match than an AJ-Shawn match. An AJ-Shawn match would be something that you’d expect to be like what you saw with Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. That’s a lot of fun to do, but it is also a lot of work. I guess I speak more of Samoa Joe because it is one of those things that can be good, like a Shawn and ’Taker, but it’s a heck of a lot easier to do physically. Of course, when you get up there in age, those are the things you think about. It’s more about the story you’ve got to tell, and it’s a little less physical.”
