1970/80's wrestler "Outlaw" Ron Bass (Ronald Heard) sadly passed away Tuesday at age 68, according to PWInsider.com. The longtime wrestler hospitalized recently for a burst appendix and missed a number of appearances.
His gimmick was a Texan cowboy who made his entrance to the sound of a bullwhip during his 3-year tenure with WWF from 1987-89. Prior to that Bass spend over a decade working for the National Wrestling Alliance from 1975-87.
In more recent times, Heard was named part of a class action lawsuit filed against WWE which alleged that wrestlers incurred traumatic brain injuries during their tenure and that the company concealed the risks of injury.
