Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Broken Matt and Jeff Hardy will not be resigning with TNA, and it’s because they felt disrespected during contract negotiations.
Sources close to PWS are saying that the Hardyz agreed to new terms on a new deal back during December, but needed a few minor changes, and were waiting for the finalized offer. The deal is being reported to be for a 1 year contract, and weeks and weeks went by with Matt always checking, but he was given the run around.
The Hardy Boyz lawyer told Impact Wrestling that they wanted creative control in their new deals which was shot down by officials immediately. One source says their lawyer told Ed Nordholm there was interest from other companies and he responded by saying, “Well, tell them to go to WWE then.”
That set Jeff Hardy off, and then he had decided to not resign. Matt Hardy continued talks with TNA when they sent a new contract last week. They had changed it to a 2-year deal and terms had been snuck in which stated they’d receive 10% of all his profits outside of Impact.
Matt's lawyer basically said that he'd be a fool to sign that contract, and so Matt informed Impact he was no longer interested, but would come to tapings to write off his characters. Officials said that he's crazy that they'd think they want him on TV without a contract.
Impact are trying to reportedly get the tag team titles back.
