TNA executive Jeff Jarrett and Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm are currently in the UK trying to secure Impact Wrestling a new deal on a British television. At the end of 2016, Challenge TV ended their broadcasting deal with the company.
It’s rumored they are trying to work out a deal with ITV who are keen to have regular weekly wrestling show on their network.
For those that are not familiar, ITV hosted the original World of Sport wrestling back in the 80s drawing in audiences of over 20 million. They recently also aired a WOS revival on New Year's Eve which drew a reasonable viewership of several million. ITV is considered on of the biggest broadcasters in the United Kingdom, with only BBC and Sky able to reach a similar audience.
TNA signing a deal with ITV would certainly be a worry for WWE as ITV channels are also available on non-subscription based platforms, which would allow the product more exposure.
Today #ImpactWrestling President @EdNordholm and @RealJeffJarrett are in London, England for meetings, media and more. Stay tuned for more! pic.twitter.com/iBQZtaf8bM
