New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that they are changing all of their wrestler contracts to multi-year deals. NJPW feels somewhat under threat from WWE who are in the midst of signing as many top talent as they can from Japan, United Kingdom and American independents. This will be seen as a smart move to protect their brand going forward.

As for NJPW star Kenny Omega he noted a few days ago that he is taking time off from Japan. He is presumed back in Japan in several weeks while he takes some time to heal following his match with Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11. Speculation is rife that he may actually not go back to Japan and head to WWE.
John Cena posted a photo of Omega on his Instagram which has added a ton of speculation to the rumors that Omega might appear at the Royal Rumble, although it should be noted that Omega's contract with NJPW ends of the 1/31, the Rumble takes place on the 1/29.Â
