Shelly Martinez Announces Her Retirement From Professional Wrestling

Shelly Martinez has taken to her personal Facebook page to announce that she has officially retired from professional wrestling. Martinez announced that her final wrestling-related appearance will be at the December 17th Freakshow Wrestling event at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Below is Martinez's official announcement:

"I have officially retired from Professional Wrestling, Freakshow Wrestling Dec 17th is my final show. Not accepting any more bookings throughout 2017 due to other professional commitments outside of wrestling. Thanks for your understanding x"

Martinez is perhaps best known for her stints in both WWE and TNA Wrestling. While with WWE in mid-2006, she portrayed the character "Ariel" in the company's revived ECW brand and was also the valet of Kevin Thorn. During her time with TNA in mid-2007, she began working under the name "Salinas" and also served as the valet of LAX. Martinez left TNA in 2008, but later returned to the company this year to compete in the "One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 4" event, losing in a match against Rebel.

Ever since her initial departure from TNA Wrestling, Martinez has made numerous appearances for other wrestling promotions around the United States and in Mexico.
