We reported last week that WWE is bringing back the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in 2017. We can now reveal that the arena for the event has been confirmed as Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena and it will be a SmackDown-branded pay-per-view which will air on February 12.
The event was originally believed to be Raw pay-per-view but that changed somewhere along the line, meaning SmackDown will host the event two weeks after The Royal Rumble at the end of January. It will likely be the final SmackDown PPV before WrestleMania 33 on April 2 in Orlando.
Interestingly, John Cena is not advertised as appearing although that could all change when he returns at the end of the year. As we have been reporting for a while now Cena's schedule is going to become increasingly tight next year as he takes on projects outside of WWE.
