Triple H Shoots Down Rumors About Mickie James Being A Second Choice For NXT Takeover

Triple H was in a conference with the media earlier today, and one of the things he had claimed is that the Trish Stratus vs Asuka rumors are false for when they come to Toronto next week.  The rumors floating around have said that Stratus was pregnant with her second child, so Mickie James was selected as the second choice or a back up. Triple H wanted a bit more time for other women in NXT to grow as performers.

That’s why Mickie is fighting Asuka. Triple H also said that Mickie was skilled and could handle the task. 

“I’ve seen the rumors out there about other people being attempted to be grabbed for [Mickie’s spot]. I felt like [Mickie] and Asuka would tear it up. I want to re-inforce that Mickie was not the consolation prize for us in anyway. She is the person that we went at.“
