As previously reported, WWE is now considered to be back in the running to purchase TNA Wrestling, likely in order to acquire the company's video library. It was also reported that something would have to be done by this coming Friday, as TNA Wrestling is said to have no money to fund this week's television and Bound For Glory pay-per-view event.
In the latest update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that former TNA Wrestling President and current TNA Chairwoman Dixie Carter has actually been engaging in negotiations with WWE "over the past five days" in regards to a potential sale of the promotion. Despite this, no final decision has yet been made regarding whether or not WWE will actually acquire the company.
The report also notes that while the actual ownership rights of TNA Wrestling are said to "have become very complicated," Carter still retains all rights to sell the promotion to whomever she sees fit; however, it was also noted that Billy Corgan, who is currently serving as TNA Wrestling President, could still make some sort of a deal in time in order to keep the company going.
