WWE Universal Championship Match At Clash Of Champions To Remain A Singles Match

On Monday night's edition of WWE Raw, it was determined that the WWE Universal Championship match that is currently scheduled for the upcoming Clash of Champions event will remain as Kevin Owens defending the title against Seth Rollins in a singles match, as Roman Reigns lost his opportunity to advance to the match himself due to losing to Owens on Raw.

Initially, Owens won the match via disqualification due to being attacked by Rollins; however, Raw General Manager Mick Foley ordered that the match be restarted. Owens then won again after WWE United States Champion Rusev made his return to distract Reigns, which led to Owens being able to pin Reigns and secure the victory.

Monday night's match between Owens and Reigns was originally made by Foley on last week's Raw after WWE COO Triple H initially prevented both Reigns and Rollins from winning the Universal Championship two weeks ago.
