For those of you who remember the 1980’s maybe you’ll remember the all-women’s wrestling promotion Gorgeous Women of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.). Netflix will be airing 10 episodes of their comedy reimagining based on the original promotion under the same name staring Marc Maron and Alison Brie. They won’t be taking it into the ring without some serious training though, in comes Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Guerrero is a member of the legendary Guerrero wrestling family and was a standout in the game changing cruiserweight division for WCW in the late 90’s. Chavo experienced some of his greatest success as a tag team with is uncle Eddie Guerrero when they were known as Los Guerreros in the WWE.
G.L.O.W. was unlike most promotions like the WWE, ROH and TNA due to the fact that they actually aired seasons of their show much like Lucha Underground today. G.L.O.W. aired 4 seasons from 1986-1990. Former WWE Women’s Champion Ivory was a competitor and former champion for the promotion. Chavo Guerrero isn’t the first Guerrero to be involved with G.L.O.W. as his uncle Mando Guerrero was the wrestling trainer for the original promotion.
