Multiple sources are reporting that Alberto Del Rio is apparently finished with WWE.
WrestlingInc.com is reporting that Del Rio, who is currently serving a 30-day suspension from the company due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy, informed WWE officials approximately two months ago that he was opting out of his contract and not re-signing with them due to being frustrated with "empty promises" he says he was given after returning to WWE last summer. According to Del Rio, those promises included a main event push that resulted in him being packaged into angles such as the "Mex-America" skit and the League of Nations faction.
Furthermore, PWInsider.com is also reporting that Del Rio has officially been removed from all WWE.com advertising as it pertains to all live events that are scheduled once his suspension ends in September.
Once Del Rio's suspension is up, it is expected that he will not return to WWE at all, and at the end of September, he will be free to work anywhere throughout the United States. In terms of Mexico and other areas around the world, Del Rio will be able to work in those areas "imminently."
