WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Fuji Passes Away

WWE have sadly announced the passing of Hall of Famer Harry Fujiwara, known to WWE fans as the legendary Mr. Fuji. He died this morning aged 82.

Fuji had a career spanning 30 years, infamous for throwing salt in the eyes of his opponent to win his matches. Although he was billed as Japanese, he was actually a Japanese American born in Hawaii.

He would debut in Vince McMahon, Sr.'s World Wide Wrestling Federation in 1972 as a heel and go on to capture the WWE World Tag Team Championship an impressive five times.

When Fuji retired from the ring in 1985, he went on to become one of WWE's most memorable managers, by the side of George “The Animal” Steele, Kamala, Killer Khan, Demolition, The Powers of Pain, Yokozuna and most notably, “Magnificent” Don Muraco.

Fuji was last seen accompanying Yokozuna to the ring for a six-man tag team match involving Yokozuna against "Camp Cornette" at WrestleMania 12. He retired from pro-wrestling shortly after.
