As seen on this past week's episode of TNA Impact Wrestling, Bobby Lashley is currently a Triple Crown Champion, as he holds the TNA X Division, King of the Mountain, and World Heavyweight Championships.
At the most recent set of TNA tapings, it was announced that the King of the Mountain and World Heavyweight Championships will be merged together to create a brand new championship with a brand new lineage. It will be called the TNA Grand Championship (not to be confused with a Grand Slam Champion, which is somebody who has held the World Heavyweight, X Division, King of the Mountain, and Tag Team Championships at some point in their career).
Matches for this championship will apparently have a unique set of rules which will be different from the rules of a traditional professional wrestling match. The rules will reportedly be somewhat similar to the rules of a mixed martial arts fight, and will also require judges to be sitting at ringside.
Based on the report, it seems as though the X Division Championship will remain its own entity and will not be included in the new Grand Championship. It will be the World Heavyweight and King of the Mountain Championships that will be merged together.
An eight-man tournament is going to be held to crown the first-ever TNA Grand Champion.
Here is a picture of the new TNA Grand Championship belt:
