Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer/F4W Online is reporting that WWE has been aggressively pursuing major independent talent for their NXT roster as many expect NXT to be light on Main Eventers after the Draft. WWE is apparently very interested in Ricochet (aka Prince Puma) and will most likely try to sign him as soon as he is legally able to join the company.
There have also been whispers of former WWE talent being contacted to bolster up the new split main roster. Kurt Angle has been very public about his interest in re-joining the company. However, WWE officials are not interested in associating themselves with Angle following his recent legal troubles and his "broken down body".Â
In the case of Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio, two other names associated with a recent rumor the originated on the Forbes website, they are both in the middle of contracts with their respective promotions. WWE won't legally be able to negotiate, let alone sign, either of these men until they are through with their current commitments.
