WWE revealed this weekend that the Royal Rumble in January 2017 will be taking place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. WWE announced the news during a live event from the arena last night.

Pre-sale tickets will go on sale from August 28th until September 3rd and followed thereafter by general public tickets on November 19th.

This will be the first time the event has taken place in Los Angeles, although it has taken place in the state of California in 1993 (Sacramento), 1996 (Fresno), 1998 (San Jose) and 1999 (Anaheim).

The last time the event was held in California was from Fresno in 2005.
